The "copy" the MOTU tech sent started to install but when I punched "Install" is says "can't find installer disc" so they don't really know.
It keeps giving me the message "this Macintosh can't be authorized by key diskette, brings up a different method to authorize and to call support, but they don't know anything about this older software. I also have my earlier versions, 1.51 but I have the same authorization issue. I should be using Unisyn 1.5.2 but like I said the disc won't be recognized. I am the original owner of all this, so it all worked once.
all which run fine, and I have even been able to reinstall 6.0.3 from the disc, but my Unisyn disk won't be recognized, and MOTU sent me a copied disc that gives me a message "can't find installer disk" so I'm stuck. sit file unstuffed and I ran the Unisyn 1.5 installer, it installed, but still came up to the authorization issue. Your best bet is to purchase the full Kontakt sampler on sale. When combined with MOTU's USB-based MIDI Timepiece AV, MIDI timing is significantly improved through the company's proprietary MIDI Time Stamping (MTS) technology. You dont want to hear this: By buying a licensed Kontakt library you have wandered into a mess of copy protection and corporate licensing.

Digi doesn't lose anything by allowing 3rd party DAW's to use RTAS because you have to buy the latest version of Pro Tools software to keep up anyway.MOTU Digital Performer 3 is a complete sequencing, recording, editing, mixing, and mastering environment. Just when you thought you knew what you could expect from a given plug-in, you discover that it has side-chain audio connections, can have its parameters controlled by MIDI, or has other unexpected features that open up all sorts of sonic possibilities. I would just be glad to use an RTAS plug at all. In Digital Performer, there's more to some plug-ins than meets the eye. MOTU says they now support "use of RTAS plug-ins under DAE on post-TDM inserts" whatever that means. Logic TDM got so bad that I abandoned it for a long time, but recently I've gotten back into it since 8.02 and OS 10.5.4 seem to be pretty stable now. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I was trying to set up my Nektar P4 key controller to the transport control in MOTU Digital Performer, but it didnt quite work right. I wouldn't say RTAS isn't a "pro" format because many professionals use it, making it by definition a pro option, as are all the other plugin formats. But my reason for wanting RTAS support is that there are many plugins that only come in that format, or that I'd like to have, for instance, Guitar Rig on my TDM tracks as I'm tracking guitar parts. I am a Logic TDM user since 1996, and realize that of course TDM support exists. I mean MOTU is advertising that they now support RTAS.
